Game 1:
Ahoy, ye scurvy dogs and salty sea dogs, gather round as I regale ye with the tale of the latest skirmish in the Ultimate Frisbee League, where the Skying Dutchmen clashed swords with the fierce Yzma!
The clash began with a spectacle as Captain Rico Suave fumbled the treasure in the endzone, but like a true buccaneer, he rallied with three magnificent scores throughout the game, proving his mettle on the field. But ’twas not only Rico Suave who shone bright amidst the fray! Bigfooted buccaneer Alek showcased his prowess with a block on Zach, followed by a glorious score to make it a true bookends tale. And what’s this? Peg leg caught a break side hammer from BBA himself, sending the crowd (aka Emory Wellerman) into a frenzy! From the depths of Davey Jones Locker emerged Deep Sea Davey, who wrought havoc upon the enemy with two monstrous D’s in a single point, striking fear into their hearts (one might’ve been called a foul, but who’s to say). Amidst the chaos, Shoulder Parrot Evan sparred with The Pirate, Steven, vying for the title of most assists on the team. Alas, Evan’s quarrel would have been fiercer had he not missed the first twelve games of the season. But let us not forget the formidable opponent, Liz, whose offensive prowess rendered her unguardable, a true machine on the field. And what’s this? Emory Wellerman, despite a bum leg, displayed true grit with two magnificent scores and ceaseless running across the pitch. And there be One-eyed Ani, whose game-changing D turned the tide of battle in our favor!
In the end, amidst the cheers and jeers of the crowd, we emerged victorious, for as I always say, “I love winning!” Onward, me hearties, to the next adventure on the high seas of Ultimate Frisbee!
Game two:
‘Twas a game like any other, but not for the faint of heart, for our brave crew faced off against the Joker Ship with Ellie, bless her soul, playing the whole game with the heart of a true seafarer.
In the first half, we unleashed a barrage of cannon fire upon the Joker Ship, leaving them reeling with a score of 6 to their paltry 1. Nick and Clyde were visibly frustrated, but they didn’t abandon ship; no, they fought tooth and nail, taking us to the brink of universe point. Captains Joe and Ellie steered their crew with mighty hucks and swift speed, keeping our vessel afloat amidst the stormy seas.
Yet, even amidst our victory, The Pirate, Steven, found himself at a loss in guiding the Bigfooted Buccaneer, Alek, into the endzone. A missed opportunity, for Alek could’ve secured even more scores, and Steven more assists had The Pirate mastered his craft. But let us not forget the Trieu(est) Asian Navigation, who navigated the treacherous waters with skill and precision, despite facing adversity such as an elbow to the face. Shoulder parrot Evan and Rico Suave proved themselves worthy shipmates, tying for the most assists and paving the way for The Pirate, Steven, to plunder the opposition’s defenses and tack his score card instead; a cutter in the making?
And in the end, as the dust settled and the sun dipped below the horizon, it was the Bigfooted Buccaneer and One Eyed Ani who were hailed as the MVPs of the day, his mighty strides and her deft maneuvers leading our crew to victory once more. So raise a tankard of grog, me hearties, and toast to another glorious day on the seas of the Frisbee League, where legends are made and battles are won with the spirit of true pirates! Arrr!
