I just can’t catch a break with scheduling. First week having to face Layton, Schimel and Colverson is tough order. I knew they would come out strong and even week 1, which is often a turnover fest, and not just give away the disc. What I didn’t anticipate was how intense they were going to play person defense. Layton’s team has to be the favorite to win the championship. Suck it Josh, I am putting a target on your back. All of their players are good. We haven’t seen Andrew Pla in like two years and he comes out and makes a sick layout for a score. Jordan G. is back and played great defense. The Switzer girls didn’t have a turnover all day. It was brutal for us.
The team Nick and I drafted is pretty much a copycat of summer 2019 which won league with the exception of Dustin and Kate. Amazing what a difference they make! We have multiple people who can handle but the offense sputtered. Either everyone cutting and clogging the same space or nobody cutting at all. Shout out to Sara, who was a trooper and played savage the whole game. Our one new player, Jacob, got a crash course in league: oddly shaped uneven fields and nobody knows if they were in or out near the sideline. Spirit was excellent. I remember a few picks but honestly can’t remember even one foul being called the whole game.
