Captains’ Reports Week 5

Charcoal versus Navy – Josh Barker MVP

Final Score: Charcoal 15 – Navy 13

Let’s start this one off with saying that both teams played great! It was a really close match the whole way through.

Navy started out on offense with a quick score but slightly faltered by half time being down 8-5. However by the closing of the game Navy picked up the slack and fought back well to make this a VERY CLOSE point for point game. At 14-13 ( Charcoal up) there was a very nice break from an absolutely crazy layout D by Michaela Sciandra to allow Iron Gray AKA “Jill on a grill” to take the game 15-13!!

A truly incredible game with some truly talented players.

#Shout outs#

Before listing names, there is going to be a HUGE shout out to the ladies of the Charcoal team for playing with a lot of heart and tenacity. Seriously ladies….. AWESOME JOB!

Navy is a dangerous team and is one to not let your guard down on. Charcoal may have been up 8-5 at half time, but Navy started the second half with two break points and kept us on our toes the whole game.

Navy Shout Outs

  • Adam Carr busted out some huge flick hucks from the very first point.
  • Walker Hilpert is a stud! He caught a few deep throws and was a nonstop cutter for Navy
  • Maddy Lovelace and Alethia Pantazis both put in a long day and worked hard in the zone that Navu brought down
  • Finally shout out to Tori Taylor for being a fearless leader and constant 8th woman on the field. She does a great job talking to her team and keeping them pumped. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Also a quick shout out to 2 of our newest players,Michaela Sciandra & Adam Swain, for not only playing fantastic but having incredible spirit and a thirst to learn more! 📷

  • Jill Kubisek for leading the team with 7 scores!
  • Ryan Goetz for being the true backbone of this team and always putting in 100%
  • Lisa Morris & Tommy Akin both WORKED the middle of the field and allowed our team to flow.
  • Michaela Sciandra with a very very impressive layout D and a pretty unbelievable layout catch
  • Adam Swain for playing some of the best D in the whole and and for having those “WHOLY CRAP” ups. Seriously dude well done!

And finally I’d like to thank Navy once again for being such a great team and being really good sports for the fact that they allotted themselves to play Adam Car and others at the 5+ every other point to allow newer players to play and show true sportsmanship!

Great game everyone!!

Purple over White 15-9 by Falk

It was rough going for White yesterday especially for our trooper Caroline Hill who was savage and outmatched two ladies to one every point. We only had one lady yesterday so we played the entire game 5/1 which is certainly not a winning formula against a full Purple squad. Purple did a nice job of spreading the field and working side to side patiently and not trying to jam it up the middle into our D. It was a solid professional performance by Purple. Shout out to my boy Aaron Colverson who was a monster all over the field today. For white besides our monster showing by Caroline, Ruddy stepped up. He had an awesome D chasing down a lazy dump and a very athletic goal in between two defenders on a huck by Michael. Also, I should acknowledge Josh Layton for doing his best Miami Dolphins impression (stinking it up to improve his draft position in the winter 🙂 )
