Howdy comrades,
This is my first ever league report so bare with me if it ain’t perfect. Going into Week 1, I’m delighted to say JAK Pot had some good ol’ frisbee fun playing against the highest ranked team this summer, “Oh Craps.” and we had a whopping 14 members pop out! Fun fact, JAK Pot has the youngest AND oldest players in the league. Shoutout Champion and KJ. Despite our team’s underdog energy, don’t be fooled! This first week was all about getting familiar and comfortable with one another’s style of playing and you best believe we were cookin’ it up. We are fortunate enough to have snagged Kadustin in the draft and as expected, Kate was crushing it on offense with 4 assists and 2 scores. 2 of these assists finished off with Kyle scoring in the end zone, while only wearing RUNNING shoes (ulty in running shoes is bonkers…) Our frisbee vet KJ was crushing defense by putting hard pressure on Oh Craps’ zone. While the OG Plant was not here this week, Champion (the better Plant) helped us score on offense. Thanks to our tall and short kings, Andrew had 2 scores and 2 Ds. Dustin had 2 solid Ds.
I applaud Oh Craps and their stellar offense. Ellie was lowkey giving a run for Kate’s money as they were constantly defending one another and Eller had some sick catches. Debbie always managed to get open and make killer snags near the end zone. Sam and Brad did fantastic jobs juicing it deep. Brian had a cray run through D.
Our team has demonstrated some sick offensive strategies we’d like to continue to implement as the season progresses. HOWEVER there are areas we need to work on, such as tightening our person-to-person defense and reducing unforced errors. By focusing on safer throws and making better decisions under pressure, we can enhance our performance and consistency, paving the way for more competitive games ahead.
Now… I’ll admit, Joe and Eller’s team “crapped” on us this week as the final score was 6-15. We’ve had an exhilarating start, and it’s inspiring to witness everyone’s enthusiasm and effort on the field. Despite the loss, our communication and teamwork were commendable, setting a positive tone for the season.
