Week 2: Gambled Away: Texas v. Aces

Score: 15-9, Aces

Tonight, a win just wasn’t in the cards for Texas.  We started out strong and at one point were up 5-2, but, once again, after the half-time we gambled away our lead.  Despite the loss, we certainly had some strong stats from many of our players.  Summer and Justin both had several defensive plays followed by Ben, Nesta, Jenna, Jenny, Lindsey, and Steven who also each had a defensive play that was awesome.  I can’t forget to mention Ricky’s amazing jump-catch D that I swore was a Callahan (it wasn’t).   Texas also had many great scores by Nesta, Jenna, Justin, Ryan, Steven, and Summer, several of which were likely one of Steven’s five phenomenal assists.  Though it’s obvious Texas had more stats than can be fairly described in a few sentences, we still managed to fall short of a win.  Summer and Jenna are excited to turn our 0-2 streak around during Game 3. 😎

It would be remiss of me to not share some of the notable plays by our opponent, Aces.   Max could not be stopped from throwing some truly astounding hucks.  Likewise, Harin had some truly “on-point” deep cuts and scores.  Also with some great contributions to team Aces was Cat who’s flick just couldn’t be defended.  Clearly, our opponents had more than just the pair of aces their name suggests since they bagged the win this time.

Next week, Texas plans to bring the A-game to the field.  Be on the lookout for the next captain’s report to see what cards are dealt.  Until then, take care, be well, and stay safe.  #yeehawcowboy
