Yellow over Purple 15-7
Before the game I heard “Billy has Cannons this weekend” and that put a smile on my face. After that we welcomed our new team members Keem, Lauren and Carolyn who were missing last week and began the game on D. Game was tied 2-2 but then we went on a run of breaks and took half 8-2. Second half was quite sloppy by both teams with many multi turn points but we were able to close it out 15-7 without Purple really threatening to get back into the game. Purple was missing Billy and one of their key downfield receivers in Ryan. Their offense sputtered due to the lack of handlers and downfield receivers. Shout out to the tall lanky kid whose name I don’t know – he puts on a great mark. Timmy D. did and nice job pressed into handling service when I know he would have preferred to been downfield skying us for scores and of course Rosie was all over the field on O and D.
Our standout on Yellow was stat monster Carson who ended the game with a sick cross field hammer to his Dad. McGrane had I think 3 handblocks including on a KJ attempted huck. That one sounded like it hurt his hand Lauren was awesome. When she makes a cut / she makes a cut! She goes all out 100%. Also shout out to Keem who played his first league game. He played great D and when he learns to read the disc on a huck will be a scoring machine. Spirit was excellent, no fouls called at all other than the usual old people calls on marking infractions.
