Oh Craps started the game sharp on both sides with Ellie scoring 3 points and us going up 4-1 early. Royal Flush switched some defensive schemes and ended up stealing some of the momentum to tie the game 5-5. Oh Craps settled in and took half 8-5. This same sort of path where each team would score 2 or 3 unanswered would go on until the end of the game where Oh Craps finished 15-12.
Oh Craps was not short of any highlights. Bradleighout had another sick layout score which hyped up the entire team. Brian continued to rack up D’s adding 3 this game. Chris was solid on both ends notching 3 scores and 3 D’s. Ellie scored 6 goals. Nes was as per usual calm and collected, leading our zone offense the entire game. Maddie was always in the right position for timely handler resets and uplines as she saw the field like a pro. Sam led the team in D’s this week with 4 and a momentum-shifting foot block late in the second half. AJ continues to improve and see the field better and got his first score of the season. Lyle has been an amazing reset handler. Bonnie was so close to getting bookends and I was screaming for the team to throw it to her to no avail.
Royal Flush had multiple noteworthy plays as well. Josh Barker totaled 4 assists but what stuck out to me was a pass from Billy that looked a little too far but Josh gladly went horizontal for the layout grab. Victoria, Rachel, and Rosie essentially were savage in a very hot day against tough matchups. Rosie had great up line cuts that were unstoppable, Rachel had amazing runs, staying in full sprint and never giving up on the disc. Zaddy Gallagher notched 2 D’s. Sam Weiler has a motor that does not stop, I can see him being atop the scoring leaderboards and finished this game with 2 scores and 2 assists. I look forward to matching up with Billy anytime I play him and let’s just say I wasn’t very happy afterwards when he beat me 3 or 4 times in the air. He ended with 4 assists, 4 scores, and 3 D’s. I believe Royal Flush will be a team you don’t want to match up with in the playoffs. Very fun game, with little to no calls, just some good ole Ultimate.
