The Ultra-Savage Tax

Game 1 Team Bryde vs Tax 11-7

We all know what it means is to play savage, but please, let us know what it’s called to play with only four players. (Thank you, Steven (AKA Skool), for letting us play the first half rather than simply assessing the points; Great way to get extra cardio) Our little squad of Andrew Pohl, Ronan, Max, and Tommy was able to put up a very satisfying one point in the first half. From Team Bryde, keep an eye on Matthew Stoke, who is new to league, but already has a couple of years under his belt, which means he’s going to learn the ropes this season quickly. Anthony Traina has been out of the game for ten years or so, but after seeing him play on Sunday, it’s just like riding a bike for this guy. Caroline Hill helps round out this squad and proved it with a couple of scores AND a couple of assists. At half Clea, Ace, JT, and Raul joined allowing us to win the second half 6-5, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome, and Team Bryde took the W at 11-7. Tax was flat exhausted, and it really showed during our second game. Great game, lots of care from both sides towards one another, and great spirit.

Game 2 – Jukebox Heroes vs Tax 11-4

Tax stayed on field three, huffing and puffing on the sideline, as we watched a fully loaded Jukebox Heroes roll up with EV-ER-Y SIN-GLE PLAY-ER on their roster. We put Clea in the handler position who worked well with Max and JT moving the disc. Ace loves to work the rails, scoring one of our four points this game on a deep shot from Max. From Jukebox Heroes, Chris ‘The Roaster’ Oster played flawlessly with no errors (steal of the year). Andrew Reynolds has really settled into his roll as a cutter, playing to his squirrel like cuts to create separation from his defenders in an instant. Ellie was a force to be reckoned with on O and D. “Yeah Ellie” or “Go Ellie” was almost every other cheer. And Evan O’Neill got a solid hand block on what would have been a huge flick to a wide-open Raul. Evan read the field and Tommy telegraphed his throw too much. Hope Evan’s hand is okay. Jukebox took the win 11-4. Poor Tax was too taxed from game 1 to put up much of a fight. Great spirit from both sides and lots of fun.
