The weather was beautiful this past weekend with a few white clouds peppering a clean blue sky, which mirrored the phenomenally fun and spirited game between White and Sky Blue.
With a fairly consistent and strong wind in place, combined with having only 1 female matching player, Sky Blue decided that a zone with an iso mark on their apex handler, Billy, would be the best strategy. While this worked overall, Billy was still challenging to control. Additionally Speedy/Andrew continued to capitalize on their speed and height, making solid and consistent downfield plays. It was a highly competitive first half
Alek came through with a monstrous amount of D’s and scores with solid transitions from deep in the zone, while Lexie played lockdown wing defense that also lead to a high number of scores. Despite the continued exhaustion from multiple 6v7 points throughout the game, and some hamstring issues from Evan + asthma from Ryan, Sky Blue was able to pull out a win with a consistent second half
