Team Shaaron continued to have sub par attendance from our guys but this week our ladies all showed up! We had most of our experienced guys and came out expecting a fairly easy game against a short staffed and leaderless House of Dragonflies. However anyone who has played in Gainesville League long enough knows to never underestimate a team with Dan DePaul… We kept this game close despite both teams committing lots of turns. Jared managed to shutdown the GIANT that is Timmy DePaul, but the smart handling of Steven and Dan paired with great cuts from Kellie and Jenny proved to much for us to handle. Hard cap went off while we were down one with the score at 7-8. We had the opportunity to tie it all up but unfortunately we don’t understand what bounds are and threw what we thought was a great up-line pass but was clearly out of bounds… Steven picked up the disc from the turn and managed to get a few swings to Dan and they quickly scored winning the game by 2.
Our second game was against a well rested Workshop that had handedly won their first game. We lost the flip giving Zach his first win on the flip this season and he took offense for some reason… This game was very evenly matched and Shaaron switched between zone and man often to try and keep Workshop on their toes. Eventually the speed of Aaron and Matt let us take half up 6-5, we scored out of half and never relinquished our lead again but Zach, Adub, and Michelle managed to keep it close with a final score of 11-9. Our last score was on a sick catch by Chip over Adub on a tipped hammer throw from a high-stall KJ.
