If you’ve been played league in Gainesville in the last 15 or so years, you know this speed demon:

Huseyin “in the membrane” Demir (that’s a Cypress Hill reference for all you kiddos that might not get it) has been playing league for nearly a decade and a half and he’s one of the first people I remember playing with (and getting to know/ getting roasted by) when I moved here almost 10 years ago (how has it been that long!?). He instantly made me feel welcome and helped me grasp the magic that was Gainesville Ultimate.

Sadly, Huseyin unknowingly played his last league before Covid and will be moving to Indiana very soon to be closer to his family. He has graciously offered to confer with the Backyard Barrel Baron and help us set up for a proper hootnanny at Citizens on Friday July 2nd starting at 6pm! There will be games and punch and pie. ALL are welcome.

Please RSVP so we know how many to expect and so you can leave a nice lil note for Huseyin so we can send him on his way with some proper “well-wishes.” You’ll be missed, Huseyin, but your legend will live on!
