Game 2 of Week 2 pitted Royal against the ultra-athletic and try-hard White, which Royal lost 4-10. The wind continued to make life difficult, as Royal continued to work out some kinks with the hoe offense and figure out where everyone works well together.
This game was a learning experience for Royal. We tried some new things on O such as having different people handle, mixing up our cutters, and just learning how to play in the wind. Royal was on a bit of a struggle bus this game, as fatigue and perhaps a slight tinge of frustration set in. However, we kept our heads high and played on until the bitter end.
Our MVP this game was Jared. He helped run our offense this game, added 2 scores to his name, and played great D throughout the game. Jared’s patience and willingness to do whatever necessary for the team really stood out, and was appreciated by everyone!
White’s MVP was more mud than man by the end of the game, blending into the dirt surrounding him. Obviously this is in reference to none other than Josh Barker, who once again is the front runner for Most Passionate League Player. He caught hammers, played annoyingly great defense, and impacted White’s winning ways.
Great game White!
