In the first game of the 2020 season Royal beat the fun-loving ” Pank Drank” 15-9. We (Pink) had four missing men suffering from, among other things, heartburn and a boooboo on the pinky (no pun intended). Despite our missing players we showed our strength in a smooth running offense relying heavily on the speed and athleticism of JT and Caleb. At one moment in the game we realized JT had caught half of our goals! A shout out definitely goes to Natalie who hustled with a smile on her face despite how many different defensive strategies we sprang on her. Special Kudos goes out to the women of Royal. They were extremely difficult to cover, in both speed and positioning.
Unfortunately we just didn’t have enough umphh to push out the win against Royal despite our zone defense and the hard ass hustle of a team averaging 65 years in age. They say Age before beauty, but in this case they are just wrong.
Our game was super friendly, we took a teaching moment when a newer Royal player was trying to be helpful by picking up an out of bounds pull and chucking it into the middle of the field.
We are looking forward to a second chance against these guys, we are already plotting new defensive strategies that may or may not involve more pank dranks.
