Game 1 vs David S Huckins
The Horror Flicks knew this week would be tough without our defensive juggernaut and Co Captain Billy. With that being said the Huckin Pumpkins were without there two tallest floors of frights in Bhagya and Jack which seemed to even the playing field ever so slightly. They started the game hot and went up 2-0. We bounced back and tied it up 2-2. We took our first lead at 4-3 and then proceeded to lose half after they made key adjustments and were down 4-6. Huckins ended up playing well in the second half and won the game 10-6. I believe we could have won this game but we had just a few too many errors close to the end zone which they capitalized on almost every time. Big shoutout to Josh and Drew as they both are coming back to league after some bad injuries and are both first round picks in their own right. Josh is never fun to cover as he has the energy and stamina of an 18 year old and the throws of a Josh Layton. Jemima and Quinn both held down the Huckins on the FMP side and had a solid game. My only question for this team is how the heck is Jeff drafted so late? For a guy with an awesome suit and even better flick hucks I think we mandate he be drafted no later than the 4th round ever again!
Game 2 vs Fantastic Fourhands
During the first game I looked over and saw both Dustin and Kate and completely forgot they aren’t one person this season. Saddened by this sight I knew our second game would be rough. They hadn’t won a a game this season and were hungry. Ellie played for Tabby this past season and the biggest goal for league was to beat her very own coach and amazing teammate Kate. Let’s just say that did not seem even slightly possible as they started the game 7-1 against us. After a few adjustments and a beautiful laser flick to the bridge of my nose, the Horror Flicks had awakened! We scratched back with valiant effort to end the game losing 6-11. Big shoutout to Alek and Aidan for stepping up and captaining and drafting such a fun team to play against. For our own highlights Chris and Evan both notched assists and Kay has been handling every other and really helping our team move down the field and avoid my huck go happy tendencies. Plant scores because that’s what Plant does, and if you don’t know or didn’t see it Will had a huge D in the end zone which fired up our whole team. Our team has been scarcely absent this season but that’s no excuse, don’t count us out as we gear up for a playoff run of the ages. I have the Fourhands and Horror Flicks in the finals after the absence of most UF players at CCC.
