Well hello again my discianados! I hope this email finds you well. The BIG NEWS this week is that Gainesville must bid adieu to a long-time legend, Huseyin Demir. We’ll be hosting a goodbye hootnanny at Citizens Field at 6pm this Friday, July 2nd.
Now on to the chuckery (as always, you can skip down to GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING if you ain’t got time for this)! Gold and Cardinal remain undefeated, while White and Forrest are still questing for their first win. There have been some big point diffs, so some teams are definitely flexing out there, but my little birds tell me that, nonetheless, spirit remains strong! What I wouldn’t give to be out on an Ultimate Field getting my @$$ handed to me right now. I’m riddled with jealousy and anxiously awaiting the day I get to return. I’m hoping to sneak away for a pickup game sometime soon. I imagine my performance will look something like this:
To reiterate, here are the details on the GOODBYE PARTY for this lovable devil:
WHEN: 6pm THIS FRIDAY, JULY 2nd
WHERE: Citizens Field, Under and around The Dreaming Tree (which is what I’m now calling that big tree we all congregate under… Thanks, Dave Matthews)
WHAT: Games, Punch and Pie, Backyard Barrelry, Good Peeps and Vibes
NOW ON TO GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING:
- The league Pre-Party AKA Skills and Drillz continues at 5:15pm this week. Get out there to warm up, get your questions answered, and hone your frisbee skills and knowledge!
- We’re still working on getting the fields properly lined. Thanks for your patience. Manpower and weather have made this challenging, but we’re GETTING THERE.
- Jerseys are paid for and should arrive this week, but, just in case, please bring a WHITE and a DARK (NO GANDALF THE GREY, PLEASE)
- As always, games start at 6, so make sure you get there early to at least warm up and find your field.
- Want to see how it all shook out last week? Or find out who you’re up against or what field you’re on? It’s ON THE WEBSITE.
- Are you taking photos during league? SEND ‘EM IN! We would LOVE to showcase them on the website. We’ve also got the wonderful Britt Renee helping us out with some pro-level photography. Need a pro photographer (or a Disney Princess) for an event? You can connect with her here at: https://www.brittreneecreative.com/
- Lastly, If you haven’t paid yet, please do so now. It’s $40 and you can double check if you’ve paid (and pay) on the website here.
- And ONE MORE TIME: Please RSVP for the Huseyin Goodbye Party and leave him a nice note here.
Have a FANTASTIC week four, and keep the spirit high and the hucks looooooooooooong.
XOXO,
Roseman
