Final Score: Dump Beatles over Dragonflies 15-14
First game of the Wintring season. A lot of energy was in the air, and from the players to the captains, everyone was excited. The Dragonflies had a lot of learning to do, in terms of how to play together. A lot of mixing play styles, and it showed in our first half as we started off down 4-8 at half. A lot of unforced turns, a lot of throwing mistakes, a lot of dropped passes. But the Dragonflies were determined to bring the game back. Some great plays were made by players all across the board: Jack Ross made a huge defensive play, leading to a bookends on the following huck. Jacoby Hine starting off the season with not one, but TWO D’s, resulting in him starting off the season as the team’s lead in D’s. Reagan dominated her matchups, making throws consistently easy for the handlers, as the Dragonflies worked their way back into the game. An amazing effort all game by Aaron Colverson on both sides of the disc, but particularly by making SEVEN assists to begin this Wintring season. Judah Lebofsky had a superb game, scoring five goals, placing him soundly in the top of the league leaderboard. Through all this effort, the Dragonflies brought a 4 point deficit game back to universe. But through an amazing dive, Danny Gallagher of the Dump Beatles caught an underthrown hammer just before it hit the ground to keep the Dump Beatles drive alive, leading to their final score and the win on universe point. Shoutouts to Moyer and Manny for consistently getting open, and to Abbie for a very beautiful and memorable huck deep. MVP for the Dump Beatles goes to Clyde for fantastic handling and deep throws. MVP on the Dragonflies side goes to Jack Ross. Not only did he get a bookends, but despite this being his first year in frisbee, he has shown great field awareness and a very strong desire to learn new things, leading to him being a reliable cutter and defensive player. Very strong effort from everyone, the Dragonflies are looking forward to the next game against the Cutterflies!
