White falls to pank (Week 2)
We knew going into this game that we would be without our fearless captain Layton and our rising star Sydney. That meant players were going to have to step up to fill their spots. And step up they did. Everyone on white played amazingly for 90% of the game. We just couldn’t quite close it out. We managed to get a fairly large lead before pink stepped up their intensity and brought it right back and then some. Shout outs to Dom for his sweet poach D and his all around effort. Colverson also really stepped up being the main reason we ever moved forward down the field. His hammers to Will were on point. Speaking of Will, he also had a great game with a great layout D around his person. Also, it was great getting to play with Jamie as she always puts in top effort. It will be really nice when we finally get a complete team. In the end our lack of subs seemed to get to us as our mental errors accumulated as we got more tired.
O Royal keeps their streak (Week 3)
This week was a much windier game than the last two had been and both teams had to adjust. To further our difficulties, we also only had one lady present. A huge shout out to Alexa who played the entire game against some strong Royal ladies and was still running hard and scoring by the end. That also meant that we were playing down a player for half of the game. Luckily the wind acted as an extra player numerous times and throws bounced in the air and players second guessed their decision. This game was hard fought as we took half on serve and continued to trade points in the second. We had the chance to win it on universe but the scoring throw was not completed and Royal managed to punch theirs in. Shout outs in this game go to Van who had a sick layout while guarding Adub as well as skying one of Royal’s players at another point. Mike also had a great game and has been steadily improving. Also Pla is back and crushing. He had a great guck for a score right after someone from Royal heckled that he wasn’t a thrower. This score may have been close but I’d be wary of this Royal team. I’d love to play them again.
