13-15, Short Stack
This week, Texas really turned up the heat. The game was close and Texas had more amazing plays than one can summarize in a couple of paragraphs. Nonetheless, here are the game highlights:
Leading the assists category was Steven “Huckster” Nguy with 6 assists and Justin “Huck Monster” Fletcher with 4 assists. Several of Texas’s players had a handful of scores each. Jenny Nguy led the score category with 3 scores, followed by Nesta, Jenna, Joe, and Summer with 2 scores each. Steven and Andre each had an awesome score. Lastly, Texas wasn’t quite on top of it’s defensive game this evening but still had many great defensive plays. Ricky led the D category with 3 phenomenal defenses followed with by Nesta, Joe, Justin, and Steven who each had a D.
There were so many all-star plays this evening, I really cannot choose a favorite. My top two: (1) Joe “Sunshine” Dickens making an absolutely stellar one-defensive play. (2) Summer sprints for the end zone, Justin sees and makes a backhand throw, but then summer trips (Nooo) and tips the disk, but wait! Jenny Nguy is there to save the day for a score. Talk about a memorable play!
The other team, Short Stack, had some great plays as well. Zac and Michelle were an unstoppable handler combo. And Trey Plyler was so challenging for Texas to play against—talk about defensive prowess!
While we were just a couple of points short of a win this time, it’s obvious the team is gelling as the season moves forward. The substantial improvement in Texas’s strategy, speed, and vision over the past few weeks is bound to be unbeatable during the playoffs. Keep an eye out for an upcoming game against Oh Craps.
