Panthers Forever 1:1 (One Captain There at a Time). Oh, and we played the Manateez + Owls.

Hello GNV Ultimate!! Gosh, it’s so good to be back. Like, back back. This (as many of you saw) was my first week playing League, and man, I’ve missed y’all. It felt so good to get back out in the rain and mud and slingin some plastic.

But anyway, we’re not here for a tearful reunion (well, maybe just a bit) we’re here for the juicy game deets. Well, let me satisfy our burning desires.

The weather: rainy, the ground: muddy, the team: Goated, my co-captain: injured (RIP torn body parts), the vibes? Impeccable. And with that, the stage is set.

Also, let it be noted that when one Panther captain falls, the other is ready to stand in their place. We missed our resident Zaddy this week due to a stinky poo poo quad tear. Big sad, heal up Danny!!

Our first game was with the Manatees, for which the water was unfortunately not increasing their power. No Stephen in the backline was experience I’m sure was missed as they entered the Panther zone. To that end, the game was quite one-sided, with our zone turning into many many breaks, culminating with an 11-2 win.

Our FMPs were absolute UNITS today, putting up 6 points (between Ani, Nes, and Jess). Mr. Jared also contributed appropriately with *only* 6 assists. The rest of us were there I suppose, just throwing it back and forth. Coach, Ben Stone and Nan killing it in the handler space, and Vish slipping into his new role as a League hybrid handler/cutter. Also, by popular team demand, I have to report that I had a bid; like a textbook perfect bid. Like sooooo pretty. And it felt incredible. Like I said, we’re so back.

For our second game, we moved fields (sad) to face the wise young Owls. Our Panther charm failed us early on, going down 7-2 by the start of the second half on simple execution errors and maaaybe a few bad decisions.

Nevertheless, we brought it back! Through hard D and chilly O we made it 8-8 and sent us to universe. We managed to force a turn and then Jared gave his mark the ole 1, 2, and 3 to get off an air bounce flick into the deep space. Sam managed to just barely sky Rosie to snatch the win. Truly a phenomenal game.

I’d say more, but I’ll let the legacy we leave behind as the Panther-est team ever continue to speak for us! See you all next time!!!
