Navy VS Cardinal
13-15- CARDINAL WINS
Disclaimer: Let’s be honest, neither team’s captains were good about keeping score during this game so any and all scores mentioned here is probably a guess soooo don’t sue me if I’m wrong. (We will do better Week 2; Please don’t smite us Jenny and Fresca) 😉
Week 1 started with a well-matched game between Cardinal and Navy. Navy ended up taking half at 8-5 (I think). The team just found our mojo early out the gate and was working our ho game down the field. Cardinal came out the second half ready for their great return and they did not disappoint: with a capitalization on a recovered D (Jenn… catch your freaking D’s) and A FREAKING GREATEST (shoutout Billy Field) to fill the gap and begin to take the lead. Both teams fought and played hard and maintained their spirit throughout the game but in the end, Cardinal took the W. GREAT GAME CARDNIAL (looking forward to our rematch in playoffs 😉)
MVP for Cardinal: Van Switzer! This game was the Switzer family battle, and it was so enjoyable to watch. Van was a force on Cardinal and even hand blocked one of his Dad’s hammers… LOL sorry Kev. Van was reliable with the disc and made Navy work down field! Be on the look out for him.
MVP for Navy: Carson Switzer! This kid can play some freaking friz! He was someone our team could count on during this game, he was chilli with the disc, made his defender work to stop him, and made some great recoveries when our team would throw him all the garbage we could muster. He was a force, and I am so excited to see what else he does this season.
Looking forward to this season with this team and if all the games are like this one it’s going to be fun season! Can’t wait to see Cardinal on the field again soon!
