Game 3 MudDawgs v Shaaron
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. Quite the contrast from the mud bowls that we played in the prior two weeks. Attendance has been an issue for our team, and this week was no different. Caroline once again held down the fort by playing savage for two games straight. Even though we played 6 on 7 for half the game it didn’t deter our execution in the slightest. We were able to spread the love and share the disc, with 7 different players getting on the stat sheet with a score. Our disc movement was a thing of beauty and our zone defense proved to be too much for Shaaron to overcome. It helps that they were without some of their top players.
MVP of the game goes to Steven J (aka Skool). The savvy vet was delivering assists left and right as well as playing solid defense up front.
Game 4 MudDawgs v Workshop
When at full strength these two teams match up very evenly with a lot of similarities between the two teams. The game started out with each team trading scores until finally Workshop broke us and went up 5-3. After that, the MudDawgs reached deep and reeled off 3 straight scores to take half. In the second half, our team continued to fire on all cylinders. Getting some key turns that we would then turn into scores. Again, we played a team that was missing several key players. Make no doubt about it, Workshop will be a force come playoff time with their veteran handler core and a strong cast of female matching players. Thankfully we were able to capitalize on their shorthandness and cap off the day 2-0!
MVP of the game goes to Gabe Cornejo. The man was a force to reckon with pulling down 5 scores and playing lights out defense over the top.
