On Sunday, Jukebox once again had excellent attendance. The weather was excellent, and Evan was kind enough to bring some libations for the team. We started out by playing the Marsh Mermaids( Asa and Antons’ team). We lost the game 10-8, but that did not stop us from having a great time. Our stat sheet was very spread out all over the board, with multiple players contributing in big ways. Will Byrd and Evan were launching some beautiful hucks, while Jefferey, Ellie, Chris, and David seemed to always be open. The mermaid’s mvp goes to Cooper, Asa, and Reagan as they all played great and we couldn’t really do anything to stop them.
In our second game we took on Sharing and Caring (Shea and Jess’ team). In this game, the opponents team name really came true, as we shared the disc well and no pick or foul calls were made by either team. Jukebox took this game 11-5, and a whopping NINE different players scored a goal. Joe was feeling his flick huck (unlike last week but we can blame the rain), and both Hannah and Katherine were great at finding the open space and both scored. Sharing and Caring was missing some key players, but Matt Henry was still carving us up with his quick cuts and Shea and Jess both played very well. Overall, it was a great week for Jukebox and we look to continue to improve.
