Gold vs Forest was the last of the first round games to conclude on Wednesday night’s double header, and Gold moved over to take on Pink after their first loss of the season. With only one sub and being worn out from our first game the large pink squad that was warming up with a full team throw was intimidating. Luckily for us Pink was missing Logan Diehl, oe of Gainesville League’s greats due to the Cannons game. Unfortunately the rest of pink team was there and ready to run.
Pink would go on to outrun and out D a tired Gold the entire game. Gold had sustained a minor injury after their captain Shea landed on his knee funny in the game vs Forest a few minutes earlier. But minor injuries can make a big difference when you are without subs to rest them.
This game got a little heated than the previous game with a few fouls, picks, and close contacts that were argued over, but were for the most part quickly resolved. Pink was a fun team to play but we wish we were playing with our full team. Gold would keep this game close but could never take the lead and ended on a second loss of the season 6-9.
