Game 1 vs A’pollos Nuggets
The Fates were coming off their first-season loss and wanted to get back on track. We started the game strong, 3-0. This may or may not have been a result of Kate and Dustin’s tardiness, but who can really say? Both teams traded points until we won 11-9. The Nuggets had some flashy plays like Evan laying out again! Kate filled the stat sheet per usual and Pat found the endzone twice against us. Mathew Stock stood out in particular and had a great game as well scoring, assisting, and getting a D. As for The Fates, Kevin proved again he can toss with some of the best and tallied 5 assists. Will had an amazing layout D on a very quick Manny undercut. Kiana scored again, becoming a weekly occurrence. If I remember correctly this wasn’t the cleanest Ultimate played by either team but was a fun and spirited game.
Game 2 vs The Myrmidons
At this point, we have officially played every team and it was time for some rematches. The Myrmidons came out a little shorthanded due to attendance but came to play regardless. Clyde had some amazing deep throws, and Brandon worked the disc all day. Milan Hooper always finds a way to toss some scores and Coach Oster was pivotal for them as well. Jared was our MVP QB this game throwing 5 assists, it’s so nice having Kevin and Jared around to make my job easier. Carson had another insane layout bid and looked like a starfish flying through the air. Lucia has been a focal point of our offense and doesn’t always show on the stat sheet but she is always open and hitting perfect continue throws. Kiana had two D’s this game and is transitioning from Goalty to Ultimate seamlessly. Trey scored a few more times per usual and we won the game 11-8. Another fun and spirited game of Ultimate on a beautiful day.
