This game was one that White started expecting to be easier than last week’s game against Purple and after starting on offense we got a quick break to go up 2-0. We would quickly find that between the wind, some poor throws and decisions, and the Red team’s defense that this game was not going to be an easy win. We battled back and forth with white holding a 1 or 2 point lead for the rest of the first half and would manage to take half 8-5.
The Blood Huckers were able to come back quickly in the second half and brought the game to a tie at 9-9. Red would continue to dominate the second half and take the lead to 9-11 capitalizing on same great Ds by Speedy and Carsten as well as some poor throws by Shea, Josh and Bhagya on the White Team. At this point the frisbee power couple of Kate and Dustin decided they could not let their son see them lose and managed to lead 3 unanswered points off two great D’s by Dustin to win the game 12-11.
This game saw everyone on White touching the disc a lot! Our 12 points were scored by 10 different players with Richard being the only member of White to score more than once. Great job to our handlers of Dustin, Bhagya, and Pat for spreading out those assists to the whole team. Big shout out to the hustle we saw from Lucy and Manny who both had major contributions moving the disc with their great cuts and calm heads. I am excited to continue playing with this team and watching them continue to improve every week.
