It was a yet another stifling hot day in the swamp, best friends started the game low on numbers being just one over savage, but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in spirit. Excited to seize an opportunity to take a win over the stacked David s. Huckins, Best Friends stepped onto the field. Starting on defense The Best Friends stepped up and took a quick break. Unfortunately it would be their last break. After a quick hold from David S. Huckins disaster struck.
The best friends were not at their best today. As soon as David S. Huckins set their zone, the besties began to struggle. Bhagya seemed even longer than normal in the middle space; eating up plastic like a hungry hungry hippo. Jack Clydesdale made the deep space seem impenetrable. Drew’s mark kept forcing us to lose yards. openings in the zone were hard to come by and when they did appear the best friends just couldn’t complete the passes. Drops, overthrows, turned over hucks, turfed discs. The besties had a plethora of mistakes and after those mistakes David s huckins did not falter, they converted break after break till it was 8-2 at half.
For the besties the second half was no better. the zone defense of the huckins a puzzle that they were unable to crack. Trying different handler sets and strategies seemed to no avail. Soon the game was over and it was not close, the best friends were never able to find any footing in this game. Is this a sign of a rough season to come for the best friends or just a slippery stone on the path to a championship. Only time will tell.
