Yellow over Black 15-10

It was a lovely day at the vast confines of Citizens Field; ample sun and just enough wind to make the game interesting but not unbearable. We started out hot on D with 3 consecutive breaks. A couple hucks into the wind caused some turnovers for Black. Low and behold they caught up to us at 3-3 but we settled down, got a few more breaks and took half 8-6. We received the second half pull and scored to make it 9-6. From that point Black wouldn’t get any closer than a 3 goal margin and we closed them out 15-10.

I thought the difference in the game was as follows: We (yellow) basically put 5 or 6 players on the field who are capable of handling virtually every point. That allowed us to slowly work the disc downfield and take 20 to 30 throws to score. Black didn’t have that luxury so they had to take some chances to eat up larger amounts of field on their throws and the wind made that more difficult. They didn’t do many long sustained O points all the way down the field.

Shout out to the new guy on Black, I think his name is Tyler, that guy is a gunslinger. He is not afraid to send it deep. Yellow, we all played quite steady but the sickest catch was by Lauren on what looked like a wobbly (probably deflected) little 4 foot pass while crashing the cup. In full stride she just reached back and grabbed this wobbly disc and I don’t know how she did it.
