Game 5 – Crown Royal vs Black

Apologies to all the avid Royal readers for missing last weeks write up. For us Crown Royals we demand perfection and refuse to document any happenings of Royal failure.

Yet, for the sake of keeping the population informed, Purple may or may not have scored more points than us last week.

The day started with Black realizing they had zero women and asking Royal to share. Royal realizing Adub forgot to bring his cleats (and more importantly his whiskey) graciously offered to share on the premise that Black forfeit. Black contemplated (for honestly way too long on a game they could have won!) before deciding to rescind the offer. We should have quickly taken them up on the offer… winks… just kidding… but it was a chance for us to play without Adub and figure out how good we were after getting our butt handed to us last week. Caroline arrived after just one point saving her team from playing down 2 players for most of the game. Black, however, was still down a player for half the points and Royals handlers played steady and smart and two blinks later, the first half was over 8-3 Royal.

Half time came and the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, seltzers were flowing, and the scoreboard looked real nice so Royal got real cozy. Black must have had a different half time then we did and with an almost savage line they came into the second half with full intensity. Then Tony Williams decided to show up and things really started to go downhill for Royal. Second half was filled with long points and lots of turnovers. Black had three breaks in a row before Royal began sobering up and started trading points. Between Tony’s sick layouts, Caroline’s smart handling, Sam’s incredible speed, Justin’s beautiful hucks, and Royals apparently new found love of hammers the game was now within a 2 break lead for Royal at 12-10. Adub decided he had endured enough torture for one day whispered good luck and left. While waving goodbye Brandon sprinted for a run through D giving Royal the push to finish out the game 15-12 Royal.

Black played an incredible game. I would not write this team off yet. With a full line come playoffs this team could be dangerous.
