‘Twas a beautiful day to throw a piece of plastic around with the Pahnk Drahnk team. And let me tell you…the Pahnk team was not messing around. Both teams were back and forth at first until Carolina pulled ahead making it 8-5 at halftime. I’ll be honest, I think our team went into halftime thinking since we were up a couple breaks that we had it in the bag.
WE. WERE. WRONG.
Jeff made some of his famous smoothies at half time, and I’m thinking everyone on their team had a bit of that ‘pank drank’ because they were fired up out of half. Their zone was working pretty well, they were connecting on all their throws, and they were making Carolina work for it. They had one break, then another break, then managed to get a few more. Eventually we were tied at 11-11. (Is that break math correct? Probably not…but it felt like their break train never stopped).
Well, at a tied game Carolina decided it was time to get things back on track and step up our defense. Our tight defense and athletic players eventually helped us win the game with a final score of 15-11. It was a really good game with both teams making some incredible plays!
Cars-In-A-Line / Sweet Carolina:
- Brennen, Gonzo, and Trey were raking in the scores. Together they scored over half the total points! Individually, they also all 3 contribute so much to the team. Brennen is a great person to have behind the disc and down field; Gonzo makes some of the craziest catches and never drops anything; Trey is newer to the game but has picked up on so much and is suuuuper athletic (#cantteachfast)
- Unmil. What can’t this man do? He had the most assists out of everyone on our team. He also never looks like he’s trying but always manages to be wide open and ready for anything.
- Jared had a great game. He might throw hammers all of the time and make my blood pressure rise, but my goodness THAT DUDE CAN THROW A FREAKIN’ HAMMER. He also makes crazy bids and lays out all. the. time.
- Joe is so reliable, so fast, and makes great decisions! I love it. He was such a great draft for Carolina.
- Jenn and Lauren were easily getting open on offense and playing tight defense on their ladies. Our team really lucked out when it comes to the ladies!!
Pahnk Drahnk:
- Shouts to the entire team for having few subs and still crushing it the whole game! Love to see it.
- DDP, Jeff, and Darnell were so consistent on offense. Having skillful handlers/players like them with their many years of experience makes this a team to be reckoned with. I don’t know what Jeff is putting in their smooths (read: steroids??) but it’s working and I’d like to get me some.
- Drew Hiatt was all over the place on offense and defense. Homie had a lot of sick Ds and bids. He’s also super speedy which is like really cool but also like really annoying. I think he’s also drinking the “smoothies”.
- Huseyin scored a lot because he was always open and didn’t seem to ever get tired. He’s also super speedy which means… yes, he is probably also indulging in Jeff’s pahnk drahnk.
- AND LET’S GIVE IT UP FOR THE LADIES: Kellie and Clea!! They were the only two ladies there and were hustlin’ up and down the whole dang field. You freaking go girls (bicep emoji).
Great game Pahnk Drahnk!
P.S. If you’re reading this and wondering “hmmm… what in the world is Carolina Blue’s team name?” Don’t fret, we are mildly confused too! But, we have decided on “Cars-In-A-Line”. Yes, it is a slight play on the word “Carolina” (thanks, Jared). And, yes, it only slightly makes sense. VROOM, VROOM!
