Score: 15-8, Royal Flush
Once again, Texas played a strong game of frisbee but didn’t quite play their cards well enough to clinch the win. Both captains this week weren’t in tip-top shape—Jenna was out with a minor cold and Summer showed up nearly 20 minutes after the game started. As I (summer) walked up to the field, I got to see an amazing hammer catch by Eryan. This felt like good news was in the air. On the offensive front, we were indeed playing strong, with Joe “Sunshine” Dickens proving to be an instrumental player with his three phenomenal assists and one score. Justin, Manny, Nesta, and Steven also each had at least one assist that helped rack up scores for team Texas. Of course, defense is just as important as offense in my opinion. In this regard, almost everyone who was present had a D. Adam, Ben, and Manny all had really amazing defensive plays. Daniel had an amazing intimi-D (he may have tapped it but it was hard to see from the sideline). Jenny had an awesome D during Texas’s zone defense. Gabriel “Nestasaurus” Suvajdzic really demonstrated his defensive prowess with his two great defensive plays. Also notable was Justin’s legendary hand block and Joe’s awesome endzone Ds. My personal favorite play (ofc) was when summer laid out for a D right on the edge of Royal Flush’s end zone—it was totally worth a leg decorated with sand spurs! Generally, Jenna and Summer are looking forward to breaking into the 10+ point range next week!
Royal Flush also had some truly laudable plays. Joshua Barker had some great defensive moments. Rosie really brought her A++ game in the final point with her absolutely news-worthy give and go! Also pretty neat to see was Billy jump—I’m not sure I’ve seen someone jump that high! Royal Flush really came together as a team to secure the win.

Texas can’t wait until the next game we play. We had a lot of fun playing Royal Flush (#TexasFlush) and Texas really appreciated the spirit circle at the end. Short Stack v. Texas is up next! In the meantime, take care, be well, and stay safe.
