Aces played Short Stack for our first game of the season. My choice for MVPs of each team were the youngsters. Switzer junior and Kubisek junior played great games, you could say the future of Gainesville Ultimate is in good hands. I see our team improving greatly throughout the season. Our youthfulness just means we have more room to grow! – Max
The Aces had a slow start to the game falling behind a couple breaks to a score of 7-3. But after a little break-train, we brought it back to 7-6 then held to go into half at 8-6. We took the spark from the end of the first half to fuel a superb second half where we found ourselves at 13-13 on serve, an ideal position. Unfortunately we did get broken losing the advantage, but we got the next hold to take us to uni. After some hard defense we did eventually let up and we lost the game. But it was definitely a positive showing from our young, some would say too young, squad. I want to give a special shout out to Eric and Cat, they both made really smart throws the whole game and made some beast cuts. Cat had an absolutely wild chase down block in the end zone. – Harin
