Shaaron wins the Game of Thrones (aka 4th seed in champ bracket) against House of Dragonflies

On a brisk November afternoon Shaaron and House of Dragonflies both looked short on players at 1:55, but come 2:05 we both had a full line and a sub or two, we love the timing of friz-peoples. Both teams were missing key speed players in Shaaron’s Matt Henry abandoning us to return to the Frozen North and the House of Dragonflies missing Steven and Jiggins who allegedly were off celebrating Jiggins’s birthday… Shaaron had a birthday of their own with Chip Deal choosing to come play for his birthday! We love a dedicated teammate.

Shaaron won the flip and elected to start on defense. We planned to play zone to start and managed to get a turn! However we were unable to capitalize and turned it back over to the House. They scored quickly and then we would generate a quick score to tie it up 1-1. At this point the Dragonflies capitialized on a few miscues from Shaaron and took a 3-1 lead. As we walked in shame back to the otherside of then field I spotted a hero approaching. Shaaron’s leading defender and offensive weapon, Jared ‘the man’ Futral made a late but much needed arrival to the field. We would manage to score while Jared cleated up and this arrival quickly turned the tides in our favor. Our offense worked much better flowing with Jared, and we would trade points with the House till half when we were down 7-8.

Shaaron was happy with our play in the first half and with some minor adjustments on our z0ne were able to take a lead early in the second half that we never relinquished. Some second half highlights include Chip securing birthday bookends, a crazy run-through D by Aaron, Shea being shifty in the endzone and catching 3 scores on back cone cuts, Lars almost catching a layout D on the absolute MOUNTAIN OF A MAN that Timmy DePaul has become, and Allison with a layout sideline D that would be the game winning turn.

MVP for the House of Dragonflies has got to go to Manny. He stepped up in Steven’s absence and worked with Dan DePaul all game to keep the disc moving. He had deep cuts too catching a few scores high-pointing the disc where no one on Shaaron expected him to get up to.
