Team A’pollo got a little deep fried on Sunday but everyone soldiered through regardless.
Our first game was against Huckulees (Zach and Michelle) who started out on a roll, resisting it proved sisyphean.
In the sort of tragedy that the Greeks would really appreciate – Ani got off a stall nine throw which Mills managed to tip but someone on Zach’s team still caught it – and threw it to the end zone where Danny tipped it AGAIN (almost D’ing the frisbee for the second time) and then Huckulees STILL caught it for the score. Infuriating – all my libations to the gods will be toxic in nature.
Nothing quite as tragic occurred in our second game against Ben, Bonnie, and Jacob (B, B and J?) they were very successful in throwing to Sam a lot of times.
On positive note Jemima cut through the various old people zones with continuous success and had great hands throughout both games.
Also notable was a great pass that Jemima had to Abbie for the score. Pat and Bueno hustled the frisbee down the field on many occasions and got some Ds. Danny had a nice scoring layout in our second game.
Hopefully our next league day will be slightly less crispy but at least today felt very classically Greek I feel we have participated very authentically in the theme of the season.
