Last week back in black came out in full force with an almost 100% complete line-up. This week back in black decided to be back on vacation. Judah and Tomas were warming up as our core three Lynne, Britney, and Ross walked over. 2:03 and we nervously tell the Hulk we don’t have a squad yet. Not quite hulked out, they graciously allow us a few more minutes. David, Asa, and Jono come strolling in and we’ve got a full line! Valdos joins in after point 2 and we have a sub!! Things are looking up for back in black, but Hulk was operating full force from the beginning. They score once, then twice, then again, and again.
Back in black calls a time out to discuss strategy and take a well-deserved sip of water. With the wind (and the score) we decide to try out a ho stack and move to zone. We’re able to move it up the field, find open spots but just can’t seem to punch one in. Zach, Michelle, Aaron and Max in the back field is just too dangerous, and the Max-Harin connection was on point. Half comes and we’re at a misleading 0-8 score.
Back in black was up against a very very good purple line up, but the heart, intensity and athleticism of black should not be dismissed. Tomas was getting ds all day getting his 5th one for the day on point 13! Britney is the player to look out for this season. She’s smart, sees the field, and man can she run. Once our handlers start hitting her, she will be unstoppable. Judah played smart and confident throwing our first score of the day to Jono. Judah hungry for more, threw black’s second point to David. Ross wanted some of the action and pulled in our 3rd point to David at 3-14. Hulk finally put an end to the beating with a gorgeous throw from Zach to Aaron straight off our pull.
Hulk we love you and your big green purple selves. It was an incredibly fun game full of spirit and high fives and all the fun things that we love about this league.
