Forest vs. Pink – Week 2 Captain’s Report
Outcome: Forest Loses 15-8
This week’s game started off very close with back and forth points for the first four points of the game until we let Pink take a 2 score run on us. We tied it back up again at 4s, but Pink took the next 4 points before we put one back on the board. Then Pink took half and we only managed to rack up 4 points in the second half of the game. We were down a few of our players and couldn’t seem to convert when we had the opportunities to, but we are working on growing and learning as a team so we can pull off an upset in the bracket play 😉
On Pink, we saw a lot of athleticism and some very good deep shots to convert on Forest turnovers and it caused a deficit we just couldn’t overcome. Pink’s Erika was crushing it learning how to play frisbee for the first time and was working hard all over the field in her first game ever. AnaBel was running us ragged with her endurance. Brant was making plays left and right to get Ds and stop our scoring attempts. Overall, Pink showed up today! Great game!!
On Forest, I was so proud of my team. We are working together really well, communicating, and keeping up the energy late in the game. Zak played great handler defense, as did Stephen Smith. Alex Janelle had a great layout catch on an overthrow and gave it to Josh Songayab for a layout score! Tom Brown kept up the energy all game (and smiled the whole time as well), and Jackson is a quick learner as we throw him into unfamiliar situations.
Our MVP for week 2 is Arianna Zhai for hustle the WHOLE game, some great catches and great defense overall and for putting up one of our scores this game. The girl is non-stop energy and I’m glad we have her.
