I blame the weather. It should have rained. Everyone knows that Manatees love rain
The tortoises did not live up to their name: they ran and they ran fast. How dare they. Dustin and Kate did Travaglini things, meaning Dustin made some phenomenal throws and Kate made phenomenal cuts. This combined with some phenomenal field spacing from Clyde, Brandon, Jemima and the Rudloffs (seriously, having Caio and Lucas on the same team is cheating, so easy to think you’re marking one and then BAM you’re wrong) made their offense very smooth. Van played an outstanding game, dominating the deep space and making excellent cuts of swings. Once the manatees started balancing handlers on each line, we developed a much more consistent offense in the second half, but alas, 6-3 was a bit too much for us to come back from
Game 2 against the otters started off similarly, a downward spell. The Otters flowed like a river and took the first 2 points, eventually going up 6-2 at half. However, the Manatees rallied a bit and managed to outscore in the second half, though still go down 10-7. That said the defense of Van and Tessa was impeccable, and Sam was dishing out assists like a mad man
