Weenie Huck Jr vs. Horror Flicks 10/1
Many people have been doubting Weenie Huck since the draft leading into the Fall 2023 season. The team was ranked 7th in terms of end of season projections. Well after this weekend, I think a lot of people are rethinking their predictions. We brought it this last weekend with the fullest line we have seen all season. Only two players were out, letting us play with lots of subs, keeping our legs fresh. A strong showing against Horror Flicks gave the team a lot of confidence, especially after going on a tear early in the game with a 5 point break train. This effort was led by Billy O’Bryan and Jaylynne Hocutt throwing 3 assists each. Harin Patel was popular target with 4 scores, leading to a 9-6 win. Having so many people ready to go on each point definitely kept spirits high, but we knew we would need to stay focused to close out the afternoon.
Weenie Huck Jr vs. David S Huckins 10/1
Coming off of a strong win brought perhaps a tad of cockiness into the next game. We started down 4-2 early, after a couple of very unsuccessful offensive points. Yet the Weenie Huckers pressed on. Through sheer effort, and a repeatedly successful performance from Billy O’Bryan with another 3 assists, we came out of half and ran another 5 point break train, managing to end the game with a commanding win 10-7. Scores were spread very evenly across the entire lineup, as everyone found their openings for scores, leading to a strong group effort in closing out the game.
